Currently, we are delivering groceries to an estimated 5,000 seniors and homebound clients each month.
This is a recurring volunteer activity; load your vehicle at one of our 130+ distribution sites and deliver healthy groceries to homes of senior and other homebound clients in Santa Clara or San Mateo County. You can find more information about being a Home Delivery volunteer here.

Help us sort and box the fresh produce and healthy groceries we provide to neighbors in our community. Currently, Second Harvest serves an estimated 500,000 clients every month; that is roughly 11 million pounds of food each month.
Each client receives a box that has $250 worth of groceries, 50% of which is fresh produce and 25% is dairy and meat and 25% dry good like beans and pasta. In a shift that can be 2-3 hours long at our Cypress Center Warehouse in San Jose, you will help load these boxes with fresh produce that will be distributed at one of our 130+ distribution centers in San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties. Sign up to help sort food here.

Despite the June 15 economic reopening in California, Second Harvest of Silicon Valley will not be accepting walk-in, community food donations. This policy allows us to continue operating at the highest level of efficiency possible in order to keep up with the demand, which is still double what it was pre-pandemic. Hosting a virtual food drive is a great way to help us meet this demand. Our new fundraising platform only takes a few clicks to create, and we provide all the resources you will need to be successful; from templated social media post and images to ideas on how to personalize your fundraising page and prewritten thank you notes to those who donate to your fundraiser, we are here to help you be successful every step of the way.
