Dear District 5170 Rotarians,

It is hard to believe, but this Rotary year is going to be over in about five weeks.  I am proud of what we have accomplished so far this year.  As a district, we have enjoyed a record year in membership.  As of this writing, we have 3,917 Rotarians in the district, an increase of almost six percent since the start of this Rotary year.  Can we hit 4,000?

And, as a District, we have exceeded the clubs’ combined annual giving goal.  I am hoping that we can do even better.  After all, we are the best District and our Rotary Foundation does so much good.  Through our club Presidents’ Project, we donated thousands of items and thousands of dollars to help the schools in our local communities.  We helped the victims of the recent earthquake in Nepal.   We visited Monterrey, Mexico, where we worked on a variety of hands-on projects at schools, and assembled and handed out some 250 wheelchairs to the needy.  We developed, funded, and worked on many hundreds of service projects in our local communities and around the world.

And we had a lot of fun doing it.

I feel very privileged and honored to have served as District Governor this year.  And I am most grateful to the Rotarians that made all the above-referenced good things happen.

Thank you.
